Welcome to southlmi, the website of the South of Scotland Labour Market and Economic Intelligence project. The project was part-funded by the South of Scotland Objective 2 and Objective 3 European Structural Funds programmes which closed in 2008.
The results and reports from the project are being stored, but not updated, as they may be of continued interest to those trying to understand the operation of the labour market in the rural South of Scotland - Scottish Borders and Dumfries & Galloway. The project drew on a wide range of information, intelligence and expertise at local, regional and national levels and includes primary research where there were gaps in information provision.
The reports and other outputs of this project may help inform strategic decision-making and operational planning within local agencies and businesses by providing evidence that was comprehensive and relevant.
The last South of Scotland annual labour market reports, with editions focusing on each of the two local areas, Scottish Borders and Dumfries and Galloway, are available electronically.
